We at Eyecare Norfolk Ltd t/a Cromer & Hunstanton Eyecare are looking forward to the relaxation of many of the restrictions placed on us by the Covid-19 pandemic. Understandably opinions are divided between getting businesses going again and the health of everyone. The one thing that is certain is that the virus has not gone away.
At Eyecare Norfolk Ltd like many other businesses, have been greatly affected and we are at the point of considering how we move forward. In our industry we are not only governed by Government legislation, but also our professional bodies, General Optical Council, College of Optometrists, Association of British Dispensing Opticians, and the like, and they all must agree a way forward, as you can imagine they do not’ always sing from the same hymn sheet, or should I say, read from the same eye test chart!
Of course, we have had discussions amongst ourselves, and we have concluded that for the time being we will operate in the same safe manner. As health professionals we don’t want to be responsible for spreading the virus over the next few months.” So please bear with us as we continue using the “locked door” policy, appointments allocated for everything and gallons of hand sanitiser. We are open, we are here for you and can deal with all your concerns about your eyesight and can provide you with fantastic advice for all aspects of Eyecare. We look forward to seeing you soon.
As lockdown restrictions are in the process of being eased across the UK, there has been no indication from each UK nation’s health and government bodies of plans to step down infection prevention and control procedures (IPC) or social distancing for primary or secondary healthcare settings in the coming months.
While we constantly review our COVID-19 guidance to ensure it is up to date, we anticipate the Amber phase guidance will continue for some period of time, and potentially for the rest of 2021. We can no longer supply Contact Lenses to an out of date prescription , this aspect has been changed. All forms are to be continued to be signed in house until at least the end of August 2021
Ever Since the original lockdown happened at the end of March 2020, we have followed the Government and the College of Optometrists rules of Opening and Patient accessibility very closely.
Due to the limitations imposed and working conditions we have not sent any reminder letters to our existing customer base since this time.
The present situation we are in is we can examine anybody from any clinical category if we have the capacity to do so. We must first and foremost have clinic availability on a clinic day to facilitate an Emergency and or an Essential appointment.
We would like to express that no individual has not received their routine reminder for no other reason than the Covid- 19 pandemic. We have left you to call us in your need rather than ask you to come in, we have been totally respecting the individual choice as to present into the practice.
Moving forward with the ever-increasing rollout of the vaccination for the more vulnerable groups, we are here and open should you wish to be seen.
The Practice staff members are all self-testing twice weekly. We have also since we are classified as an NHS-CARE provider and deliver Face -2- Face Consultation have received the first vaccination.
1.The practice is still operating a timed entry by appointment only.
2. A locked-door policy to control the number of people in the building at any given time.
3.Remote Hand Sanitizer Dispenser at the door.
4.Screen guards around Reception.
5. All practitioners will be in Scrubs and Face Mask/Gloves and Aprons were required.
6. Consulting Room washed down between each appointment.
7. All frames handled are washed and sanitised before going back on the self.
8. If your call reaches the answer phone, it is being remotely accessed so you will get a call back.
We have followed the compliance rules and made the practice as safe an environment to visit in structure and personnel, do not sit at home with poor vision, we can hopefully help and assist.
